Pangolin Class has eight delightful Children and they access the Lower Glitter Curriculum.

WC 6th January
Pangolins have been busy this week learning about the letter ‘s’. We explored lots of objects beginning with the ‘s’ sound and visited the park to find things beginning with ‘s’. We also practised writing ‘s’ and played some games.
Our colour of the week was ‘White’ and we loved getting messy with all the white things we found. We made snowmen biscuits and they were delicious.
WC 16th December
Pangolin Class have had an amazing final week before they break up for Christmas. Christmas crafts, Xmas Dinner, party and a panto. Have a wonderful Christmas Pangolins!
WC 9th December
This week Pangolin class have been very busy getting ready for Christmas.
In Computing we used the Interactive Whiteboard to decorate a Christmas tree by dragging and dropping the icons. We also practised our fine motor skills by decorating our own Christmas trees with buttons and Pom poms.
We listened to the Nativity story with Joanna from the Library and loved exploring the props. We also made some beautiful Angels. We enjoyed making Christmas fairy cakes and looking through the catalogues to choose what we would like for Christmas from Santa.
WC 2nd December
Pangolin class have definitely got into the Christmas spirit this week.
We have enjoyed listening to the story ‘Father Christmas needs a Wee!’ and we learned the Makaton signs for the key vocabulary in the story. We also liked tasting the different food and drinks from the story.
We loved designing our own Christmas Jumpers on the Interactive Whiteboard and we carefully dragged and dropped the icons on the screen.
We had lots of fun on Friday at Imagination Village.
WC 25th November
This week our colour of the week was ‘pink’. We enjoyed decorating pink flamingos and making pig biscuits.
The class story was ‘Kitchen Disco’ and the children thoroughly enjoyed it. We learned the Makaton signs for all of the fruit in the story and we went to Asda to buy the fruit to taste. It was yummy!
WC 18th November
This week Pangolins enjoyed a trip to the cinema to watch ‘Butterfly Tale’ as part of Film week.
Our colour of the week was ‘Purple’ and we made our own purple paint by mixing blue and red paint and we painted purple flowers.
We enjoyed listening to the story ‘Cake’ and exploring the different props. We looked very cute when we tried on the different hats and we concentrated hard when making our own party hats. We made Birthday cards for our class party and also made a cake which was very tasty.
WC 11th November
Pangolins have worked hard this week. We have been learning about Materials in Science and we went to the park to find examples of different materials. We found wood, metal and plastic.
We have been learning about the colour blue and we used our fine motor skills to mark make and paint whales.
In Maths we have been identifying numbers up to 10 and we played some games on the IWB and enjoyed playing numicon bingo.
In Music we played ‘Guess the instrument’.
WC 4th November
Pangolin class have had a very busy first week back at school.
We enjoyed listening to a Firework Story and exploring the props. We made some lovely bonfire night pictures with glitter and paint and made edible sparklers that were delicious.
Our colour of the week was green and we went to Lidl to look at the different green foods and we loved tasting them back in class. We also made some green apples with buttons.
On Friday we went to Asda to buy some new books for our class reading area and we are looking forward to reading them in class.
21st October
This week we have had so much fun. We loved listening to the story ‘Five little Ghosts’ and exploring the props. We made lots of Halloween crafts with buttons, paint and pom-poms and we printed pumpkins using apples.
We had a special visit from the famous Illustrator ‘Liz Million’. She drew some amazing pictures and taught us how to draw a cat.
WC 14th October
This week we have continued learning about Autumn. We learned about the colour brown and mixed red, yellow and blue to make our own brown paint. We then painted acorns using pipe cleaners. We went to Lidl to look for brown foods and we tasted some brown foods back in class and the chocolate brownie was our favourite. We enjoyed going for an Autumn walk to Ward Jackson park and crunching in all the leaves.
We had a lovely trip to Tweddle Farm on Friday and enjoyed feeding the animals, stroking the bunny rabbit, bouncing on the jumping pillows and playing in the soft play area.
WC 7th October
This week we have enjoyed listening to the story ‘Just like Jasper’. We learned the Makaton signs for the key vocabulary in the story and we enjoyed exploring the props. We role played the story by buying our favourite toys from our imaginary shop.
Our colour of the week was orange and we painted some leaves orange and printed them onto squirrels.
We loved visiting the Museum on Friday for our topic ‘Entertainment’.
WC 30th September
This week we have been busy learning about Autumn. We listened to the story ‘We’re going on a leaf hunt’ and we made some leaf shaped biscuits and decorated them with green, yellow and red icing. We also made some pretty tree pictures with buttons and sequins and had a lovely Autumn walk to Ward Jackson Park.
Our colour of the week was yellow and we enjoyed tasting different yellow foods and mark making with yellow pens and paint.
We had a fun visit to the park on Friday as part of our topic ‘Emtertainment’.
WC 23rd September
We have worked hard this week on our Listening skills when doing Rebound Therapy.
We have continued learning about shapes and had fun finding shapes around School and making clown faces.
We enjoyed going on an autumn walk and collecting leaves and conkers. We made some lovely autumn leaves with paint and corks.
We finished off our story of ‘Spot goes to the circus’ by having our own circus in class and tasting foods that you can buy in the circus. The candy floss was our favourite.
WC 16th September
This week in Literacy we have continued listening to the story ‘Spot goes to the circus’. We developed our fine motor skills by colouring our own circus tents and we made clown biscuits.
In Maths we have learned about 2D shapes. We enjoyed playing the monster shape matching game on the IWB and we played shape bingo. We also made some lovely pictures by printing with shapes.
We had lots of fun at the Headland park.
WC 9th September
We have been very busy this week.
We have been learning about the colour red and we enjoyed making red cakes and painting red peppers.
We had fun in the outside sensory assembly and loved getting messy.
We have been listening to the story ‘Spot goes to the circus’. We got dressed up as a clown and had fun exploring the props from the story and making clown crafts.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
