WC 5th May
We have continued listening to the story 'The Three little pigs' this week and we made stick houses and our own sandwiches just like the second little pig in the story. We went on the bus to the Headland and looked at the different houses on the way. We didn't find a house made of straw.
Our sound of the week was 'f' and we explored objects beginning with this sound and practised forming the letter and identifying it.
In maths we learned the vocabulary ' in, on and under' and we practised putting the pigs in, on and under things.
WC 27th April
Toucans have continued listening to the story 'The Three little pigs' and they enjoyed listening to an alternative version where the pigs were chefs. They loved exploring the props in our sensory story and watching the wolf huff and puff. They made some crafts for our wall display and made pigs cakes and tasted foods from the story. As part of our 'Knowledge and understanding of the world' we visited Tweddle farm to find the pigs and also played in the playground. In Maths we listened to pig counting rhymes and liked knocking the pigs off the wall. We also sorted pictures and objects from the story into big and small.
WC 20th April
Toucans have enjoyed listening to the story 'The three little pigs' this week. They made paper plate pigs and painted and collaged wolf masks. They also learnt the little pigs counting rhyme and played the Three little pigs counting game on the Interactive whiteboard. Our sound of the week was 'h' and we found lots of things beginning with this sound and tried hard to write it.
We developed our gross motor skills in swimming and in rebound.
