Autumn 2026

W/C - 7/9/26 – The children have enjoyed their first full week in Caiman Class. They have all settled really well and are getting to know our daily routines and new staff members. We have already experienced a range of different activities this week, such as swimming, soft play, sensory room, art & cookery. Our topic this term is 'I Need A Hero'. Throughout the term we will read a range of different books relating to this topic and complete different work/activities which will also link in with this. In Literacy, the children enjoyed listening to our sensory story and making their own superhero and duck pictures, in relation to our current book 'Super Duck'.

We can't wait for another fun-filled week next week!

W/C - 14/9/26 – This week we have enjoyed listening to our sensory story again in literacy and decorating some superhero masks, using different coloured paint and glitter. The children have also been practising their counting and number formation in maths and exploring our equipment and toys in our outdoor area. In music, we have been exploring different musical instruments and getting familiar with them, then the children had to see if they could identify which musical instrument it was. They did very well!

W/C - 21/9/26 -  We have started reading a new book in literacy this week. It is called 'Superheroes, don't get scared'. When we read this story, we use different props to make it a fun sensory experience. The children have made some wonderful superhero masks and superhero pictures to go on our literacy display. Also, this week, we have been making finger puppets in Art and singing different nursery rhymes using the microphone in music.

W/C - 28/9/26 – This week in Caiman Class, the children have enjoyed a range of different activities. We have continued on with our story in literacy 'Superheroes don't get scared'. The children love listening to the story and exploring all the different props to go with it. In maths, we have listened to different counting songs, practised our number formation and counting different items. We also enjoyed a trip out on the school bus to the park to collect some autumn leaves. During our cookery lesson, the children decorated some biscuits with icing pens and sprinkles. The best part was eating them after. Yum!

W/C - 5/10/26 - What a fun-filled week we have had this week! For our geography lesson, we enjoyed a trip out on our school bus to Hart Village, as part of our topic is to explore our local area. We even stopped off at The Raby Arms pub to have a play on their outdoor equipment. How lucky are we! As well as this, the children in Caiman Class have been busy making lots of different autumn crafts to sell next week, to try and raise money for a new multipurpose hall. We have made autumn leaf pictures and autumn wreaths. To finish off the week, we had a visit from the fire engine service. The children got to explore and experience a real fire engine.
