    Wednesday 7th October

We have been exploring our new story 'A Superpower like mine' written by Dr Ranj. We loved exploring the props and have been talking about people who are special to us.

    Monday 5th October

We had a trip to Tweddle farm this afternoon where we saw some of the animals and had some fun in the soft play barn. We spotted some goats, sheep, chickens and guinea pigs in the barn.

    Week Commencing 28th September

We started the week off with our first trip out on the bus to Headland park, where we worked on our gross motor skills and our turn-taking skills. We enjoyed our weekly swim session on Tuesday, with some of us accessing Highlight and some of us accessing the school's hydrotherapy pool. On Wednesday we had our smiles ready for our individual and class photographs. We continued to explore the key text 'Superheroes don't get scared... or do they? in Literacy. Ronnie the PAT dog joined us on Thursday and we helped to look after him by brushing his teeth and brushing his coat.

    Week Commencing 21st September

This week we have continued to become familiar with the rules and routines of Panda class. We have worked hard in Phonics lessons, practised our counting skills, spent lots of time getting our hands ready for writing, through doh disco and Squiggle whilst you wiggle activities and loved performing our favourite nursery rhymes for the rest of the class with Annette on Thursday using the microphone to project our voices. We have been looking after our bodies by brushing our teeth daily and practising good hand hygiene.

    Week Commencing 14th September

On Monday this week we had our first music session from Tees Valley Music. The children loved exploring the sounds they could make with the ukulele, and we sang '9 little speckled frogs'. We also had our first walk out as a class – we had a little stroll to the local play park. We hope to use the bus soon to access other places in the local community. We enjoyed a visit from Ronnie the PAT dog on Thursday and had a great time cuddling and grooming him. At snack times we have been developing our communication skills to request an item and to ask for more. On Friday we made chocolate cornflake cakes – we explored the ingredients using all of our senses.

    Week Commencing 7th September

The focus of our first full week in Panda class was to become familiar with each other and get to know our new friends and teachers. We enjoyed lots of time learning outdoors, creating our own superheroes, doh disco and mark-making activities. On Friday in cookery, we worked together to bake cupcakes and had fun in soft play.

The children have had a wonderful time over the past week getting to know their new classmates and becoming familiar with the new staff. They are beginning to get to grips with new routines and adjust into a new school year after the summer break.

We hope to display lots of photos of all the fun stuff we get up to in Panda Class, so if you haven't already, please complete the relevant consent forms ASAP.

    Thank You!
