07.10.26 - This week, we have been exploring the wonderful season of Autumn! Today, we headed out to the park for an exciting autumn walk, where we used our Visual communication boards to help us hunt for different coloured leaves.

We looked carefully for orange, red, yellow and green leaves and enjoyed spotting all the different shapes, sizes and colours around us. We also discovered some conkers and conker shells, which made our autumn adventure even more exciting!

When we returned to school, we continued our autumn fun by using the parachute to recreate falling leaves! We watched the leaves float and fall as we sang “Autumn Leaves Are Falling Down” together.

As part of our  Little Red Hen top we followed instructions to make delicious bread! The children enjoyed exploring the different equipment and ingredients used in the recipe. We used PECS symbols throughout the activity to support the children's understanding of the instructions and to help them communicate their choices of equipment and ingredients. Their favourite part was eating the bread at snack time, yum yum!

30.09.26 -  As part of our learning around the story 'The Little Red Hen', we enjoyed a trip to Tweddle Farm. The children had a fantastic time looking for the hens, chicks and eggs. They also enjoyed feeding some of the other farm animals but the highlight of the day was the tractor ride. This trip brought the story to life, supporting children to make meaningful connections.
