16.12.22 Last Day of Term! - Today we went on our class trip to the Art Gallery and played with old toys. After that we had our school Christmas dinner and Santa Claus came to deliver presents. We have had such a fun day. Merry Christmas!
13.12.22 - RE and Christmas Panto! Today the panto visited the school and we all enjoyed watching Goldilocks. On the afternoon we had a pretend Harvest festival for RE and gave each other fruits and vegetables!
12.12.22 - CHRISTMAS PARTY - Today the children had so much fun at their Christmas party! There was dancing, music, party games and lots of yummy party food. Take a look at the pictures below of our children having so much fun!
06.12.22 - CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCE PRACTISE - Today the children practised their christmas song 'Little Donkey' for our christmas performance. Take a look at our pictures below of the chidren in their amazing costumes!
01.12.22 - SOCK PUPPETS - Today the children have had so much fun making sock puppets for our DT lesson. The children used different materials such as feathers, buttons, pipe cleaners and fabric pens to make them. Take a look at the pictures below of the children having fun making their sock puppets!
29.11.22 - CHRISTMAS CRAFTS - Today the children enjoyed making snowman tealights for our Christmas fayre! Take a look at the pictures below of the children working hard making their snowmen. They had so much fun!
24.11.22 - Phonics, Literacy, Math's, DT & Music
Today the children have had a busy day! This morning they went to their phonics classes and then we read our story 'Superpup' in Literacy and practised our letter formation. In math, the children practised positional language, they placed objects 'on top', 'behind', 'in front' and 'next to' other objects. This afternoon, the children enjoyed designing puppets in PE and in music the children practised their Christmas performance song.
17.11.22 - Phonics, Maths, Guided Reading, DT & Music - Today the children have had a very busy day! This morning they went to their phonics classes and then did some counting in maths. The children then did some 1:1 guided reading with an adult. This afternoon, the children have made stick puppets in DT and then they practised the Makaton signs for our Christmas performance song!
15.11.22 - Phonics, Swimming, Sensory Room & Geography
Today the children have been very active! This morning they went to their phonics classes and then they went swimming. In swimming the children practised blowing bubbles in the water, swimming on their front and swimming on their back. This afternoon the children went to the sesnsory room and enjoyed playing with our new interactive whiteboard! Finally, the children learned all about the different clothing from around the world.
10.11.22 - Phonics, Cookery, PAT Dog, Guided Reading, Literacy and History - Today the children have had a very busy day! This morning they went to their phonics classes and then made some delicious bread in cookery class. After break, the children had a very special visit from the PAT Dog. The children took turns to stroke Maisie the dog and they even got to brush her too! The children then done some 1:1 guided reading with an adult. This afternoon the children answered questions about our story 'Underpants Wonderpants' and then we spoke about our families in history.
02.11.22 - Phonics, Literacy, Maths, Geography & Guided Reading
Today the children have had a busy day! This morning they went to their phonics classes and then did daily mile. In literacy the children listened to our new story 'Underpants Wonderpants' and in maths they practised their counting skills. This afternoon, in geography, the children learned about people who help us. They had to identify what the different professionals do and what tools/equipment they might use. Finally, the children finished the day off with some 1:1 reading with an adult.
31.10.22 - HALLOWEEN DAY - Today the children in Elephant Class have had lots of Halloween fun! This morning they listened to the 'Funny Bones' story in assembly then danced to Halloween songs back in class. This afternoon they went to soft play and then went trick or treating around school and collected lots of sweets! Then, to finish of the day we played apple bobbing.. it was so much fun!
19.10.22 - Phonics, Maths, Literacy, Guided Reading & ICT
Today the children have had a busy day! This morning they went to their phonics classes and then did some maths. In maths, the children explored full, half full and empty. In literacy the children were recognising different letters from our story 'Superworm' and some children were even forming the letters too! After dinner, the children did some 1:1 reading with an adult followed by ICT. In ICT the children had to label different parts of a computer.
17.10.22 - Phonics, ICT, Guided Reading, Soft Play & PE - Today the children have had a busy day! This morning they went to their phonics classes and then went outside for daily mile. We then did ICT and explored a computer keyboard. The children enjoyed pressing the arrow buttons in order to change the pages on the electronic book. After playtime the children read their new reading books to a member of staff. This afternoon the children enjoyed soft play and practised their dribbling skills in PE.
14.10.22 - Phonics, Maths, Literacy, Library & Golden Time
Today the children have had a great day! This morning the children went to their phonics classes and then came back to class for literacy. In literacy, the children listened to our story 'Superworm' and then answered some questions about it. In maths, the children explored heavy and light items to see if they could recognise the difference. This afternoon, the children went to the library to change their reading books and to finish off the day, the children enjoyed some free time in their golden time.
11.10.2022 - Phonics, Swimming, Sensory Room & Music
Today the children have had a busy day! This morning they went to their phonics classes and then they went swimming. The children then listened to a story before going out to play. After lunch the children had lots of fun in the sensory room and then they did music. In music the children listened to different songs to see if they could identify what instrument was being played.
10.10.2022 - Phonics, Art, Guided Reading, Soft Play & PE
Today the children have had a busy day! This morning they went to their phonics classes and then we decorated some elephant pictures in art. We then did some 1:1 reading before we went for dinner. This afternoon the children had lots of fun in soft play and finally, we practised our football skills in PE.
7.10.22 - Maths, Literacy, Golden Time and Assembly: Today we have been sorting big and small objects and we used the Now Press Play headsets to listen and act out a story about a superhero worm! On the afternoon we then went to the library, had golden time and went to assembly!
06/10/22 - Phonics, Literacy, Maths & Science - This morning the children went to their phonics classes and then in literacy they practised their letter formation. In maths the children had to recognise different 2D shapes and had to say which shape was the biggest and which shape was the smallest. Finally, in science the children played a game of 'Guess Who'. They had to listen to different clues to try and figure out which person the adult was thinking of.
04/10/22 - Phonics, Swimming, Sensory Room & Guided reading
Today the children have had a very busy day! This morning they went to their phonics classes and then they went swimming. In swimming, all of the children showed excellent listening skills so well done! This afternoon, they went to the sensory room and explored the different lights and sounds. They then came back to the classroom and did some excellent reading with a member of staff. Well done Elephants!
03/10/22 - Phonics, ICT, PHSE, Art and PE
Today the children in Elephant Class have had a very busy day! This morning they went to their phonics classes and then labelled the different parts of a computer in ict. They then played a game in PHSE to practice their turn taking skills. In art, the children enjoyed making colourful pictures with the paints. and practised their football skills in PE.
30.9.22 - Science, Golden Time, Assembly and Flu Spray - This morning Elephant class have been labelling body parts in science and some children went for the Flu spray and they were very brave! We then had a fun afternoon playing in golden time and went to the library before assembly time.
29.9.22 - Music, Maths and Literacy! Today we did some sorting of objects in Maths, some pencil control and formation in literacy and then had a music afternoon recognising sounds and instruments!
28.9.22 - Phonics, Maths, Soft Play & Park
Today the children have had an exciting day! This morning they went to their phonics classes and then they did maths. In maths the children had to pick out the matching pairs of socks and match them all together. We then went to soft play and had lots and fun in the ball pool. Finally, on the afternoon we went to the park to see the ducks and played on the swings and slide. It was so much fun!
27.9.22 - Phonics, Swimming, Sensory room & Geography
Today the children have had a fun-filled day! This morning the children went to their phonics classes and then they went swimming. On the afternoon, the children went to the sensory room and did some 1:1 reading. To finish the day off, they enjoyed learning about families in geography.
26.9.22 - Phonics, PSHE, Music and PE!
This morning the children went to their phonics classes and then they played some games in PSHE, to practise their turn taking skills. In music the children listened to different types of music to see if they could recognise what instruments were being played. To finish the day off, the children enjoyed passing and shooting the football in PE.
23.9.22 - Photo day and literacy! Today the children were recognising letters and forming them on the whiteboard. We also had photo day and had our new class picture taken! We all had a great day.
22.9.22 - Phonics and Fitness Day!
Today the children have participated in a fitness day! This morning we did our usual activities, phonics and daily mile. We then listened to a story on the headsets, all about healthy eating and staying fit. This afternoon we did dancing and then played football games outside. It was so much fun!
21.9.22 - Phonics, Maths, Literacy, ICT and Science.
Today the children have had a fun-filled day! This morning they went to their phonics lesson and then did daily mile. They then completed a maths lesson in which they had to count out the correct number of blocks. In literacy we read our new story 'The Detective Dog' and spoke about our favourite animal. This afternoon in ICT, we made our own computer models and spoke about our different body parts in science. What a busy day!
15.9.22 - Maths, Pat Dog, ICT and Art
Today the children have had an amazing day! This morning in maths they built towers with the different 3D shapes. They then had lots of fun seeing and brushing Maisie the pat dog. She is such a cutie! This afternoon for ICT, the children had fun exploring on the I-Pads and colouring in different shapes for art.
14.9.22 - Phonics, Maths, Science and Bus
Today the children have had a fun-filled day! They went to their phonics classes and then for our maths lesson, they went outside to hunt for bean bags with different numbers on. On the afternoon they did a science lesson, learning about their different body parts. To finish the day off, we then went out on the school bus to visit places we might go to with our families.
12.9.22 - Phonics, Literacy, Soft-play and PE
Today the children have had lots of fun they went to their new phonics classes for the first time and then thought about asking "What?" questions to characters from our current literacy story Supertato! They asked things like "What are your powers?", "What is your favorite food?" and "What cakes do you like?". We then had a busy afternoon playing in the soft-play and learning how to dribble the football in PE.
