Good morning Dragons!

 

I hope you are all well and getting excited for your return to school on 8th March!

 

Lexia:  Please try to access Lexia for 20-30 minutes a day as this will help with your child’s phonics and reading comprehension.

 

Daily Mile: Exercise for 15 minutes – be creative and find exciting ways to exercise! Try your best to get the family involved.

 

Maths:

Count to 10, 20, 50 and 100 (depending on the group you are in) – forwards/backwards and in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.

Adults, write down a sequence of numbers, ask the children to look away and cover one, two or three numbers before asking them which numbers are covered (quick-fire answers).

 

Complete the following worksheets:

 

Group 1: To complete missing number sequences to 10.

Group 2: To complete missing number sequences to 20.

Group 3: To know more than/less than two-digit numbers (more than/less than two-digit number worksheet - page 2).

Group 4: To add and know more than/less than two-digit numbers (more than/less than two-digit number worksheet - page 3).

Review the worksheets and guide the children to self-correct by using the methods they know.

 

Literacy: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

 

Read chapter 17 – Augustus Goes up the Pipe.

 

Write your own song sang by the Oompa-Loompa’s.

Group 1: one verse.

Group 2 & 3: two verses.

Group 4: three verses.

 

Sing your version of the song to members of your household and teach them the words.

 

Extension: Make an Oompa-Loompa dance up to match your song (consider which your you can perform for specific words/phrases).

 

Phonics:

 

Use the word lists for support. 

 

Group 1: Make a list of as many words as you can containing the sound - ‘oi’ challenge.

Group 2 & 3: Make a list of as many words as you can containing the sound - ‘sk’ challenge.

Group 4: Make a list of as many words as you can containing the sound - ‘oy’ challenge.

Handwriting: complete one page of the handwriting booklet below.

 

History: Anglo-Saxons

 

Read through slides 6 and 7 about Anglo-Saxon jobs. Use your computer to research Anglo-Saxon jobs. Pick one job and complete a ‘Job Advert Poster’ which includes: main duties (tasks to complete at work) and key qualities (must be good at)

 

All groups to complete a ‘Job Advert Poster’ using the following bordered paper:
