Caimans

Welcome to Caiman Class.

We are so pleased to welcome back the children.

 

Caiman Class follow the Sparkle Curriculum. Each child has personalised targets which they are working towards through a range of play and sensory activities each day.

 

  • We use our pool to develop our water confidence and swimming skills each week.
  • We take part in Rebound Therapy to develop our physical skills as well as our listening and attention skills.
  • We use the school bus for visits in the community.

 

  • We enjoy outside play with the other classes in school.

 

We look forward to showing you some of the activities we will be doing over this term.

Summer Term 2023

We hope that you had a lovely break at Easter. 

This term our topic is The World and The Explorers and will include some work to celebrate The Tall Ships coming back to Hartlepool.

Thursday 13th July 2023. We really enjoyed Sports Day and trying the different sports.

Caiman Class Trip to Larry's Lanes. We had great fun bowling and eating lunch out. Then we went to the park before we came back to school.

Pirate Day on Tuesday 4th July 2023. We had lots of fun playing pirate games and going on a treasure hunt.

Our story for the last 3 weeks of term is Captain Pike looks after the baby. The story is about a pirate and links to our theme The World and Explorers.

Caiman Class.

We are reading Walking through the Jungle.

Tuesday 6th June 2023 We explored some of the different textures from our story Walking through the Jungle.

Our first story is Big Yellow Digger.

No Pens Day. We made some ice cream with Cheryl this afternoon.

Class Assembly Wednesday 26th April 2023. We shared our class assembly with Toucan Class and sang some of our favourite rhymes.

In our story, The Big Yellow Digger, the digger dug all the way to Australia. We went to Seaton Beach and enjoyed digging in the sand and making sandcastles. We thought it might make take too long to dig to Australia.

We hope that you had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year.

This term our topic is Stories.

Caiman Class will still be going swimming twice weekly and taking part in a rebound session each week.

We use our school bus for visits in the community weekly as well as going for a walk each week - weather permitting.

TACPAC- we have really enjoyed our TACPAC sessions and it helps us to relax and self-regulate.

Thursday 16th March 2023 Our story for the last three weeks of term is Peace at Last.

Swimming. Caiman Class use our pool twice a week and they really enjoy the sessions. We also work on our undressing and dressing skills as well. Some of the Caimans are beginning to swim a few strokes independently whilst the other Caimans are becoming more water confident.

Welcome back after the holidays. We hope that you had a good break.

Our first story this half term is The gingerbread Man.

Thursday 2.3.23 Caiman Class enjoyed reading a selection of books as part of World Book Day.

We played a game in class where we had to guess the Caiman. We looked at pictures of the Caimans when they were younger and then we used our photo symbols to make our guesses. We were good at guessing our friends.

Wednesday 25th January 2023. Caiman Class enjoyed exploring our musical instruments today.

Life is better with a hat.

Tuesday 24th January 2023. We visited Tesco Cafe today when we went out on the bus this morning. We enjoyed our drinks.

Chinese New Year. Caiman Class explored some Chinese food. The prawn crackers were our favourites. We really enjoyed exploring the wet and dry noodles too.

Caiman Class can make the animal sounds from our story Who's on the Farm.

Our Class Assembly

Thursday 12th January 2023 We are reading Who's on the farm?. We noticed that our animals had got muddy so we washed them. We made our mud using hot chocolate powder.

Caiman Class are working really hard at making animal sounds. We are able to tell Janis that the sheep says Baa.

We have used our PECs to comment on how we can see in our story.

Topic Web for Spring 2023 - our topic is Stories.

This term our topic is I need a Hero.

Thursday 15th December 2022. We visited the Wacky Warehouse for lunch and really enjoyed the soft play.

Caiman Class have enjoyed our Christmas activities. They have been exploring different colours and materials to make their Christmas pictures.

Friday 2nd December 2022. Today we tried some Christmas foods -Pigs in Blankets, Mince Pies and turkey flavoured crisps. The crisps were our favourites.

Monday 21st November 2022. Some of Caimans enjoyed watching the England match this afternoon.

Our class story is Super Duck

Super Duck by Jez Alborough Goat has made a beautiful Kite. Duck wants to see the kite take flight. He runs and throws , the kite stays low until the wind begins to blow. That's when Frog gets carried away..... can Super Duck save the day?

Caiman Class used a range of different media and colours to make their Autumn pictures.

Reading in Caiman Class. We like sharing stories in our class.

Caiman Class enjoy exploring a range of different materials. We have explored baked beans, playdough and shaving foam.

Friday 21st October 2022. We made spooky chocolate spiders in our communication session with Cheryl. We used our PECs to request the ingredients that we needed.

This week we have been exploring musical instruments and listening to the sounds they make.

As part of Maths we explored printing with different sized wellies.
