Morning Dragons,

 

I'm glad you all enjoyed yesterday's Literacy Lesson! Great version of the song (with a twist - tractors!) Lillymay!

 

Here are today's lessons/activities:

 

Lexia: Please try to access Lexia for 20-30 minutes a day as this will help with your child’s phonics and reading comprehension.

 

Daily Mile: exercise for 15 minutes – make up your own exciting ways to keep fit!

 

Maths:

 

Count to 10, 20, 50 and 100 (depending on the group you are in) – forwards/backwards and in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.

 

Adults, write down a sequence of numbers, ask the children to look away and cover one, two or three numbers before asking them which numbers are covered (quick-fire answers).

 

Complete the following worksheets:

Group 1: To complete missing number sequences to 20.

Group 2: To know more than/less than two-digit numbers.

Group 3: To add and know more than/less than two-digit numbers.

Group 4: To complete number sequences in 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s and 10s. (higher ability number sequences worksheet). 

Extension: Challenge your child to answer as many quick-fire questions (verbally) as they can in 2 minutes.

 

Review the worksheets and guide the children to self-correct by using the methods they know.

 

Literacy: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

 

Recap chapter 17 – Augustus Goes up the Pipe - discuss what he looks like, behaves like and what type of personality he has (ask the children to make notes to help complete their work).

 

Please can everyone draw a picture of Augustus.

Group 1: To label him with interesting adjectives (challenge your child to think of the best possible adjectives).

Group 2: Write three tick sentences to describe Augustus using descriptive language.

Group 3: Write four tick sentences to describe Augustus using descriptive language.

Group 4: Write five tick sentences to describe Augustus using descriptive language.

Group 2 & 3: Complete the ‘sk’ worksheet.

Group 4: Complete the ‘oy’ worksheet (page 1).

Handwriting: Complete one page from the handwriting activities below:

 

Group 1 & 2: Handwriting booklet.

Group 3 & 4: Handwriting continuous Cursive. 

Science:

Please the below instructions to make Fossil cookies – have fun!

Extension: Research fossils and select one to draw then write down the most interesting facts you can find.

 

Discuss the facts found by researching Fossils.
