  • New Building News

    Tue 20 Mar 2018

    Dear Parents and Carers,

We are delighted to inform you about good news regarding the replacement of our mobile classrooms. We have been working with the Local Authority to agree a scheme to replace the 2 mobile classrooms and to increase capacity within the school which has now been agreed and the funding secured.

We will therefore be embarking on a building programme to create 4 additional classrooms with toilets and changing facilities. This will enable us to respond to the demand for more places for pupils with Autistic Spectrum Difficulties and to provide greater support for children in mainstream schools with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties.

As you know, we have been waiting and hoping for this news for over 2 years so we are delighted we will be able to provide more children with the specialist support they require to enable them to achieve to their potential.

We anticipate the building work will commence during the Summer and should be completed for January 2019. In addition to the new classrooms we will continue with plans to move the staffroom so that a central communal area can be created next to the school hall and ultimately the Soft Play area will be upgraded and made accessible to all pupils.

Plans are still at the early stages, as soon as we have more information to share with you we will arrange for a consultation event to take place in school.

If you have any questions or concerns, please phone or pop in to see me.

    Yours sincerely,

    Zoe Westley.
