In this lesson, we will be learning about an artist called Max Ernst. He created a technique in art called frottage. This is when you use your pencil to make rubbings of textured objects which you find around your home. You will need a pencil and paper.

Hello Caimans and welcome to the Easter Holidays !!!

To try and be as normal as we can be in these very different times there will be no work set by me for the next 2 weeks because it should now be your Easter Holidays. So try to relax and enjoy yourself and enjoy eating lots of chocolate.

• practise writing your name and the letters in your name, you could also make a list of words beginning with the letters in your name.
• After reading 'Supermarket Zoo', choose an animal to draw and label by writing it's name, copy an adults writing or overwrite an adults writing.

• Practise counting in 2's to see how far you can go, make pairs of object/toys etc... and count them up in 2's.
• using lego, blocks or anything you may have in the house or garden build some tall and short towers
• To follow on from our science work about materials children could explore materials or objects to make a bridge for a car and find the best 'Not bendy' materials.

Rainbow Pictures.

Hello,

I hope you are all well and enjoying the weather at the moment.

You may have seen the rainbow pictures in people’s windows over the last few days. 
If possible could you make one for your window and then send a photograph of the rainbow to this email - postcards@springwellschool.co.uk.  
Then your picture will become part of a PowerPoint of photos of rainbows made by our all of our children and and the students at Catcote School.

Hi Caimans and parents, I hope your are all well and trying to have some fun.

This term our topic has been old & new and Dinosaurs.

Here are some videos and ideas if you want to try them at home.

Activities

• draw or paint your own dinosaur and give it a dinosaur name.
• practise writing your name and the letters in your name.
• count objects around the house to as many as you can (see how high you can go!).
• if your child has a tablet and is able to use imovie, they could create their own story.
• we have been learning about recycling, children could help sort recycling and rubbish in the house and use safe recyclable materials to create models, possibly dinosaurs or anything they can imagine.

Welcome to Caiman Class

Caiman Class is an Autism Specific Class made up of 8 Key Stage 2 children. There are five members of staff, Andrew Mayson the teacher, Annette (HLTA), Jo, Val, Sue R and Millie.  

The children follow an adapted curriculum appropriate to their individual needs. We follow the TEACCH approach at regular intervals throughout the day. 

The children have regular swimming lessons at Mill House Swimming Pool, Rebound and PE lessons. During the Autumn term the children participated in music lessons provided by Tees Valley Music Service.

27.2.2020 - R.E Food tasting.

In R.E we learnt about the Islam celebration of Eid. We all enjoyed tasting different kinds of food including; samosas, onion bahjis and vegetable bahjis. The samosas were the most popular! Good tasting Caiman Class!
