Tuesday

Hello there Pandas working from home,

Reading, Letters and Sounds, Computing (Safer Internet Day) and PHSE today.

Reading

Just like yesterday - please read the book that was sent home with your child or find an alternative from home and a specific reading activity has been set for your child on Education City.

Letters and Sounds

More practice with the trigraph 'AIR'. Begin by revising sounds your child should know - listen to the songs on the following video and ask your child to join in by making the sounds and performing the actions.

Jolly Phonics Songs in correct order! Letters and Sounds

Next concentrate on the sound 'AIR' by watching this short video and then completing the online activity.

Finally, complete the following worksheet.

Computing

Today is 'Safer Internet Day' and if we had been in school today we would have been taking a photo of your child with a member of staff who helps them to stay safe online in school but as you are home-schooling today .........  can you help your child to take a photo of themselves with a parent/carer/older sibling who helps them to stay safe online. Please email these photos to me caroline.derbyshire@springwellschool.co.uk

Next, watch the following videos about staying safe online.

Keeping your personal information safe - Episode 3 - It's a serious game

When the friends sign up for the games arcade, will they be signing up for more than they expect?

What can you trust online? (Film for 5-11 year olds)

A film aimed at children and young people aged 4- 11 exploring what we can trust on the internet as part of our Safer Internet Day 2021 campaign. Find more about trust and reliability online at www.saferinternetday.org.uk #SaferInternetDay #AnInternetWeTrust

PHSE

Continuing with our topic of keeping safe the next part is all about tying our shoelaces.

Watch the videos on how to tie shoe laces and see which one would be best for you to try out. With an adult, watch the clip and attempt step by step tying your laces, don’t worry if it is a bit tricky at first just try your best. Don’t forget when you are out on a walk getting some fresh air, try and do your own laces first and follow the road safety rules we have been learning about.

If you could email some photos to Caroline with your shoe lace attempts we would be very impressed.

Happy Working everyone

Caroline
