20.3.25 - Geography - Understanding the World - Our topic this term is Extreme Earth - We visited the beach this week and explored the seaweed, looked at shells, walked over the rockpools and threw stones into the water!
14.3.25 - This week Toucans have been reading the class story "Panda Bear Panda Bear, What do you see?". They have been selecting the animal props from the story and selecting the correct animal noises on the sound bar! Lots of fun!
6.3.25 - This week the children have been doing some brilliant work in their workboxes! Everyone has completed lots of fine motor work, puzzles and matching activities. Well done!
21.2.25 - This week the children all enjoyed sharing books with the adults in the classroom during guided reading sessions and also enjoyed a trip to ASDA on the school bus to pick up some new books for World Book Day which we will be celebrating after half term. Have a great break Toucans!
11.2.25 - Safer Internet Day - Today the children did some computing work for safer internet day. The children played with the coding caterpillar toy, building it and making it move around the room. They listened to the cute alien inclusive story all about not talking to strangers and used the interactive whiteboard to play some musical cause and effect games. Afterwards the children used the iPads with an adult to take photos of each other and their toys.
7.2.25 - Today is Number Day! We have celebrated in Toucan Class by playing with abacus, rolling dice, sorting number cards, counting out blocks and we even watched some NumberBlocks. After all that we went walking around the school on a hunt for some Number Gnomes! The children had to pay the gnomes the amount that they had written on their hats! Great fun!
3.2.25 - Today Toucans have enjoyed some turn taking games as part of PSHRE, we have been passing balls back and forth over a bridge with an adult and had lots of fun, we enjoyed shared and taking turns!
30.1.25 - This week in class the Toucans created some lanterns for Chinese New Year! They used their fine motor skills to rip and tear the paper and then with some glue made some brilliant lantern collages!
22.1.25 - This week in maths Toucan class have been matching colours. Some of the children joined in by taking turns with each other to put the coloured rods into the hoops.
16.1.25 - This week we have started to read and explore our new class story "Elmer in the Snow", the children have enjoyed listening to the story and flicking through the book. Today we were looking for Elmer and tried to find him hiding on each page!
8.1.25 - Welcome back Toucans! The topic this term is Extreme Earth. We made the most of the cold weather and went on a walk for our Geography lesson exploring the frosty grass and frozen puddles on the way to the park. This weeks assembly was outside on the yard, we all went outside and explored the ice and cold water and the snow (flour). We had lots of fun and made sure to wrap up warm in our coats and put them on ourselves for PSHRE.
