Elephant class staff are really looking forward to seeing the children in School on the 11th January.  We will be staying in our 'Elephant bubble' and will be regularly washing hands and cleaning surfaces.  Remember to 'Stay Safe' when working from Home. 

Our Topic for this Term is 'Extreme Earth'. 





  • Elephant Class will promptly start school at 9:00am.
  • Elephant Class will finish school promptly at 3:10pm. 
  • The children in Elephant Class who are transported to and from school via bus will be travelling in class bubbles. 
  • Parents and Carers who transport their children to school will be greeted by a member of staff within the school grounds at the side door in the rear car park at 9:00am and 3:10pm. Social distancing between adults and staff must be adhered to at all times and masks must be worn.  Parents/carers must stay outside of the school building.




  • Attendance will be on a rota basis.  Your child will be in School for one week, followed by a week working from home. 
  • Your child will be given a work pack every Friday that they are in School with activities to complete for the following week when they are working from home.  Some work will also be put online on this class page. 
  • If your child, or a member of your household, show any symptoms of Covid 19, they must not attend school and must isolate at home and let the school office know asap.  
  • Please take your child's temperature each morning and do not send them to school if it is 37.8 or above.
  • All classes will continue to be 'cocooned'. Elephant Class children and staff with remain in their own little bubble, in their class/outside area throughout most of the day.
  • There will be no swimming, soft play, assemblies or out of school trips. 
  • Hand washing will occur regularly throughout the day. 
  • Regular cleaning of touch points, toys, tables, equipment etc will occur in an ongoing manner throughout the day.
  • Where possible, resources will not be shared between classes.
  • Social distancing will be followed as much as possible.
  • There will be hot school dinners available and they will be eaten in class.
  • At the moment, Parents and Carers are unable to come into our school building so any messages can be written in the children's orange 'Home School Books'.

    Important Dates: 

        11th January - 15th - Elephant class should attend School.

        18th January - 22nd - Elephant class are working from home. 

        25th January - 29th - Elephant class should attend School.

        1st February - 5th - Elephant class are working from home. 

        8th - 12th February - Elephant class should attend school.         

        12th February - Break up for Half Term. 

Friday 15th January 2021: PE - In PE today, we followed fitness coach Joe Wicks. We did lots of wonderful exercises!

Thursday 14th January 2021: Gruffalo's Child Song - In Literacy, we had fun learning a song about The Gruffalo's Child. We even did the Makaton signs to go along with it!

Thursday 14th January 2021: Gruffalo's Child Cakes - We had lots of fun making cakes today. We decorated them with icing and sweets so they look like the Gruffalo's Child.

Wednesday 13th January 2021: Rainbow Song - In Music today, we enjoyed learning the 'I Can Sing A Rainbow' song. We learnt all the makaton signs to go along with it!

Our Class story this week is 'The Gruffalo's Child.  The children loved watching the movie version on Monday and they made a fantastic moving Gruffalo's child picture.  Please watch the story below and pause it throughout to see if your child can remember what happens inext.  Ask your child who the characters in the story are and how the Gruffalo's child would have been feeling whilst walking through the dark forest.  Should the Gruffalo's child have wandered off on her own?

Look for the rhyming words in the story and have a go at playing the 'Washing line rhyme' game in the link below.

Wednesday 25th November 2020: NO PENS DAY - As part of 'No Pens Day', Cheryl made a wonderful game for us to play. We had lots of fun looking for all of the characters from 'What the Ladybird Heard', around our outdoor area!

Monday 23rd November 2020: Ladybird and Crocodile Puppets - We made puppets to go with our story this week - 'What the Ladybird Heard on Holiday'.

Friday 20th November 2020: Dolls - A very big 'THANK YOU' to the lovely lady who donated the dolls, doll clothes and doll furniture to our class. We had a brilliant time playing with them during golden time!

Thursday 8th October 2020: Stuffed Peppers - After learning all about harvest, we made some tasty 'Stuffed Peppers' using various vegetables and cheese. They were so yummy!!!

Thursday 10th September 2020: Printing - In Art, we used paint to print different patterns. It was very fun!

Thursday 10th September 2020: Emotions - In PSHE, we have been learning all about different emotions. We talked about how we feel at different times and who to talk to if we feel sad or poorly.

Tuesday 8th September 2020: Ladybird Spots - In Maths, some children added playdough to ladybirds. Counting carefully so that they had the correct amount of spots.

Monday 7th September 2020: Judaism - In R.E., we have been learning all about Judaism. We looked at and explored the different items as we will be soon learning about the festival Yom Kippur.

Friday 4th September 2020: Dressing Up - We had lots of fun dressing up during Golden Time!

Friday 4th September 2020: Counting Jelly Tots - In Maths, we used some cakes we baked and added Jelly Tots. Each child was given a different number of sweets to add to their cake. Fantastic work, Elephant class!
