Our Topic for this Term is 'Extreme Earth'.



  • Elephant Class will promptly start school at 9:00am.
  • Elephant Class will finish school promptly at 3:10pm. 
  • The children in Elephant Class who are transported to and from school via bus will be travelling in class bubbles. 
  • Parents and Carers who transport their children to school will be greeted by a member of staff within the school grounds at the side door in the rear car park at 9:00am and 3:10pm. Social distancing between adults and staff must be adhered to at all times and masks must be worn.  Parents/carers must stay outside of the school building.




  • Attendance will be on a rota basis.  Your child will be in School for one week, followed by a week working from home. 
  • Your child will be given a work pack every Friday that they are in School with activities to complete for the following week when they are working from home.  Some work will also be put online on this class page. 
  • If your child, or a member of your household, show any symptoms of Covid 19, they must not attend school and must isolate at home and let the school office know asap.  
  • Please take your child's temperature each morning and do not send them to school if it is 37.8 or above.
  • All classes will continue to be 'cocooned'. Elephant Class children and staff with remain in their own little bubble, in their class/outside area throughout most of the day.
  • There will be no swimming, soft play, assemblies or out of school trips. 
  • Hand washing will occur regularly throughout the day. 
  • Regular cleaning of touch points, toys, tables, equipment etc will occur in an ongoing manner throughout the day.
  • Where possible, resources will not be shared between classes.
  • Social distancing will be followed as much as possible.
  • There will be hot school dinners available and they will be eaten in class.
  • At the moment, Parents and Carers are unable to come into our school building so any messages can be written in the children's orange 'Home School Books'.

Thursday 15th April 2021: Numicon Subtraction - In maths, we have been learning how to subtract. We used numicon pieces to help!

Wednesday 14th April 2021: Kandinsky - In Art today, we have been looking at some work by Kandinsky. We then made our own Kandinsky styled pictures by sticking different coloured shapes onto black card. They look AMAZING!

Friday 26th March 2021: EASTER BUNNIES - We had a visit from some bunnies this afternoon. They were very kind and brought us lots off Easter eggs!

Friday 26th March 2021: Easter Cake - HOW AMAZING IS OUR EASTER CAKE?! - we decorated it ourselves with icing and chocolate treats!

Friday 26th March 2021: Easter Biscuits - We decorated some biscuits with lovely pastel coloured icing!

Friday 26th March 2021: The Last Supper - In RE today, we acted out the last supper.

Thursday 25th March 2021: Easter Baking - This afternoon, we made a cake and some Chocolate Nests. All ready for Easter!

Wednesday 24th March 2021: Mr Sun - We loved learning the Makaton signs to go with the song 'Mr Sun'. We had some fantastic singing voices too!

Tuesday 23rd March 2021: Reading Corner - This morning we had a lovely relaxing time reading with our friends!

Monday 22nd March 2021: Octopus Sculptures - In Art today, we used clay to make some fantastic octopus sculptures!

Friday 19th March 2021: Red Nose Hunt - We went around school, searching for the missing red noses!

Friday 19th March 2021: PE - In PE today, we used rainbow ribbons and we played some games for Red Nose Day!

Friday 19th March 2021: I Hear Thunder - We had fun learning the song 'I Hear Thunder'. We signed along and also used our rainmakers as instruments!

Thursday 18th March 2021: Rainbow Cake - HOW AMAZING IS OUR RAINBOW CAKE?! We really enjoyed making it!

Thursday 18th March 2021: Addition - In Maths today, we used objects to help us add two numbers together!

Wednesday 17th March 2021: Thunder - In the light & sound room today, we used musical instruments to make thunder and used the different effects for rain and lightening!

Tuesday 16th March 2021: Rainbows - After reading the story 'Elmer and the Rainbow', we made our very own rainbows with different colourful materials.

Monday 15th March 2021: Rain Makers - In DT today, we made some beautiful rain makers!

Friday 12th March 2021: Robot Mouse - In Computing today, we used a robot mouse to practice our instructions and directions.

Thursday 11th March 2021: Wind! - In geography today, we took our pinwheels out to test them in the wind. We also found other objects that can blow in the wind!

Wednesday 10th March 2021: Patterns with Lego - In Maths today, we made some patterns by using lego bricks.

Tuesday 9th March 2021: Patterns - In Maths today, we used animals, fish and teddy bears to make repeating patterns.

Monday 8th March 2021: Pinwheels - We really enjoyed making some colourful pinwheels today.

Friday 5th March 2021: Rain Song - In Geography we have been learning about different types of weather. Today we had fun learning a song all about rain!

Friday 5th March 2021: Length - In Maths today, we used cubes to measure how long certain objects are.

Thursday 4th March 2021: WORLD BOOK DAY! - For World Book Day we all wore PJs and brought our favourite books into school!

Tuesday 2nd March 2021: Length - In Maths today, we have been learning all about length. We had to order objects from shortest to longest.

Friday 12th February 2021: Chinese New Year - After learning all about Chinese New Year in RE today, we tried lots of delicious food!

Tuesday 9th February 2021: Mark Making - In Art, we are going to begin our topic on sculpture. So we made some marks and made different shapes in playdough.

Tuesday 9th February 2021: Safer Internet Day - Today we have been learning about how to stay safe online. We made some posters and the children took their own selfies with the adult they trust to help them when they're online.

Tuesday 9th February 2021: Play Dough Clocks - In maths, we have been learning about time. We used playdough to put the hands of the clock in the correct places to tell us the time.

Monday 8th February 2021: Sea Creatures - In Science today, we have been learning all about different sea creatures. We enjoyed singing a song about them!

Monday 8th February 2021: SNOW! - We had THE BEST time playing in the snow today!

Friday 29th January 2021: Elmer Cake - We made an Elephant shaped cake and enjoyed decorating it with different coloured squares!

Friday 29th January 2021: Snow! - In Geography today we have been learning about snow! We put on some warm clothes from our clothes shop and had lots of fun pretending to play in the snow!

Letters and Sounds - This week we are learning about the letter 'k'.  

Watch and join in with the Jolly phonics 'k' song and read the 'k' powerpoint.  Practise writing 'k' and see how many things you can find in your house that begin with this sound.

Login to and play 'Kit Kite' in the homework section.  Complete the sheet if you are able to print it out. 
Literacy - Read the 'Ten little lights' story below and answer the questions in the quiz.  Them develop your fine motor skills by doing the pencil control sheets in your pack.  Can you trace over all the lines accurately?

Maths - Join in with the counting to 20 song below. Then play one of the following games on education city in the homework section;-

Art - Read the 'Winter' powerpoint below and design some winter clothes on the sheet in your pack.  Try drawing some patterns and make them colourful using either pencil crayons, crayons or felt tips.

Daily Mile - Everyday in school we do the daily mile.  Your final task for today is to do the daily mile at home.  You could go for a walk or do some exercise in your garden or house. Have fun and remember to send me some photos.

Play 'Guess the animal' on the link below.  Listen to the initial sound and match it to the animal.  Can you write the initial letter of each animal?

Wednesday 25th November 2020: NO PENS DAY - As part of 'No Pens Day', Cheryl made a wonderful game for us to play. We had lots of fun looking for all of the characters from 'What the Ladybird Heard', around our outdoor area!
