Thursday 25th September 2025 - In PSHRE today, we have been learning about the importance of both exercise and rest. We took turns to act out the different sports and then we played the 'bean game'. We had lots of fun! We then discussed what we had learnt this lesson and how we feel.
Wednesday 24th September 2025 - In Cookery today, we made some Translucent Biscuits, to link with our Science topic. We measured out the ingredients and mixed them together to make the dough. We then cut out the biscuit shapes, with a hole in the middle, then added a boiled sweet. Once they were cooked, they had a translucent (partly see-through) window in. They tasted delicious too!
Wednesday 24th September 2025 - In Literacy today, we had lots of fun role-playing the story Mixed!
Tuesday 23rd September 2025 - In Computing today, we discussed how to stay safe online. We also talked about what to do if someone was being unkind to us online. We made a 'kindness web', where we gave compliments to our friends, showing how it's nice to be kind to people, and how it makes us happy when people are kind. We know that it is very important to tell an adult what we are doing on our iPads, Computers, Consoles and Phones. We also know to tell an adult if someone is being unkind to us online.
Thursday 18th September 2025 - In PSHRE today, we have been learning about how to stay healthy. We had to guess the different sports being described (football, tennis, trampoline etc). We then felt our hearts and talked about how they were beating. After jumping on the spot for a minute and felt our hearts again, we found that they were beating very fast and we felt tired.
Wednesday 17th September 2025 - In Science today, we have been experimenting with different materials, finding out which materials reflect and do not reflect light. We found that the shiny materials reflect light and the non-shiny materials do not reflect light. We then made pictures using both shiny and non-shiny materials.
Tuesday 16th September 2025 - In Science today, we experimented with different materials. We made masks with materials that were translucent (partly see-through) and opaque (not able to see through).
Friday 12th September 2025 - In Literacy today, we had lots of fun role-playing the story of 'The Rainbow Fish'. This has been our topic book for the last two weeks. Lots of fantastic acting!
Thursday 11th September 2025 - In PE today, we have been practising our throwing. We were throwing beanbags high and low. We then took turn to throw beanbags into hoops.
Thursday 11th September 2025 - In Science today, we focused on how we can make shadows bigger and smaller. We do this by moving the stick puppet closer (bigger) and further away (smaller) from the light source.
Tuesday 9th September 2025 - In Science this week we are learning all about light sources. Today, we have been talking all about shadows and how they are made. We used torches and our hands to make hand puppets. We then went into the school yard and made various shaped shadows using the sun. This was a really fun lesson!
