19/12/2025 - Visit from Santa.
Today we had a very special visitor from Santa, who brought us all presents for Christmas!
17.12.25 - Xmas dinner and Xmas tasting (History)
Today we have done lots of Christmas tasting. First was our Christmas dinner and then later on in the day, we took part in some Christmas food tasting as part of our History. Surprisingly, cranberry sauce and mince pies were a hit with many of us. However, Christmas pudding wasn’t a class favourite!
15.12.25 - Xmas Party
This afternoon Panda class enjoyed their Christmas party. We danced our little socks off at the disco and played some party games.
11.12.25 - Wacky Warehouse
As a Christmas treat, Panda class joined Caimans and Pangolins at the Wacky Warehouse for lunch and a play in the soft play. It’s safe to say that we were all very tired when we got back to school!
8.12.25 - Bake Off
Panda class were invited to help judge the Bake Off competition.
5.12.25 - Sensory Christmas
We visited Winter Wonderland and explored different Christmas activities. The snow blower and reindeer dust were a firm favourites!
7.11.25 - PE
Today, we went to Throston Sports Hall for the first time to take part in our PE lesson. We continued to work on our ball skills, as well as improving our communication and listening skills.
We have also been working on getting changed independently.
5.11.25 - Bonfire Experience
We have absolutely loved our bonfire experience. We "toasted" marshmallows and watched the fizzy pop fireworks, as well as enjoying a chocolate biscuit sparkler.
5.11.25 - Geography
Panda class went out on the bus to the Burn Valley park to see if we could spot any signs of autumn. We collected some items to bring back to school to explore such as different coloured autumnal leaves, conkers and acorns.
We enjoyed exploring the autumn tray after the lesson in ‘Play in Class’ time.
24.10.25 - Halloween
This week have been taking part in lots of Halloween activities, including a trip out to see Halloween decorations, carving pumpkins and taking part in Halloween crafts.
23.10.25 - RE
We have been learning about the Hindu festival of light, Diwali. We created colourful fireworks using repeated patterns.
22.10.25 - Maths
In Maths, we created witches’ potions by adding ‘one more’ ingredient to our cauldron.
13.10.25 - Music
Today we worked with Becky at Tees Valley Music to learn a song on a glockenspiel. Some of us were very good at remembering the notes!
9.10.25 - Geography and PSHRE
The lovely people at the Dutch Gardening Centre donated some autumn flowers to us so we had fun planting them for our class outside area. We worked on working alongside others, sharing equipment and developing our independence.
8.10.25 - English and DT
In our story, the characters enjoyed some pizza so we had a go at making our own. We used our listening skills to follow instructions with four key words.
1.10.25 - Maths
The children love singing our number nursery rhymes. Today, we were the five speckled frogs jumping into the cool pool.
1.10.25 - English and PSHRE
As part of our story 'Which Food Will You Choose?', we tried some different coloured foods. We made choices and expressed our likes and dislikes for the different foods. Blackberries were very popular!
22.9.25 - Computing
This week’s computing was focussed on being able to use web applications and using the touch screen to manipulate something on a screen.
22.9.25 - Music
We enjoyed exploring the instruments and seeing what sounds they made. Some were very loud!
18.9.25 - PE
PE, this week, was all about exploring different types of balls and working together to kick, roll and throw them to our peers.
17.9.25 - Geography
This afternoon, we took the bus to the Dutch Garden Centre to explore the types of plants we might find in autumn. There were many amazing plants but we particularly loved the rainbow coloured ones, which matched our class story all about the rainbow. We had a little smell of the plants and felt the texture. Some were spiky and some were smooth.
The Dutch Garden Centre also kindly donated some plants to us, which we will have fun planting at a later date.
17.9.25 - Maths
This morning, Panda Class took part in a number hunt to see if they could recognise numbers in our environment. Some of us were very good at spotting numbers!
12.9.25 - DT
Pandas enjoyed DT with Annette this week. They worked together to make rainbow cakes by measuring out the ingredients and mixing them altogether.
10.9.25 - Geography
We visited the Headland Park as part of our Geography (familiar places) and to build our communication skills. There were lots of smiles all round!

The children have spent time getting to know their new class and exploring the areas. We have seen some lovely sharing.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
