In Literacy today, we had a great time acting out 'Izzy Gizmo'. Lots of great acting - well done, Sharks!
For Science Week, Sharks did a fun experiment with Coca-Cola and Mentos. They react when mixed together to make an explosion. We had a giggle!
In Geography today, we looked at Google Maps and Google Earth. We looked at places we have visited and what is around them. The children then worked in pairs on iPads to find some familiar places (shops, Mill House, school etc).
We had a fabulous time celebrating World Book Day! We opened up our gift of Caroline, which was a new book 'Can't You Sleep Little Bear'. We had a visit from Ronnie, the PAT Dog, and we read him the story 'Dragons Love Tacos'. To end the day we all snuggled up, had some hot chocolate and listened to our new book.
In Maths today, we have been sorting numbers into tens and ones.
In computing today, we have been taking pictures of various parts of the field/trim trail. We then used PaintZ to draw what we had taken photos of. What fabulous work!
In PE today, we have been working in pairs and copying movements, just like shadows. Great work, Sharks!
We really enjoyed making pancakes in cookery today. We even had a go at flipping the pancakes. It was so much fun!
In Computing today, we have been learning about taking turns. We played 'tic tac toe' using paper versions and on the interactive whiteboard. We have some very competitive Sharks!
For Chinese New Year, we had some delicious food at lunchtime. We used chopsticks and had fortune cookies too!
In PSHRE today, we have been learning about what it means to be a good friend. We talked about how being kind to others is very important and if we see someone in school on their own, ask them if they want to join in playing. We then played games together and helped each other. We have some fantastic friends, here in Shark Class.
In History today, we have been looking at inventions. We looked at old and new versions of each invention. We compared them and discussed their different features.
In Literacy today, we have been reading the book 'Inventors'. This is a non-fiction book. We looked at and spoke about the different features of a non-fiction book. (Contents page, heading, line, illustration, page numbers etc). Great work!!!
We really enjoyed the Valentine's Afternoon Tea today, in school today!
In Computing today, for Internet Safety Day, we completed a booklet all about 'Internet Safety' and made some posters to show ways of staying safe online.
In Music today, we sang and signed along to some songs by Singing Hands 'It Must Be Love' and 'I Love You'. We then coloured in some lovely Valentine's Day cards. What a LOVELY afternoon! <3
In Maths today, we used counters to help us work out some 'missing number problems' using part-whole models. We have some great mathematicians in Sharks!

In PE today, we had LOTS of fun. Our topic is 'Expressive Movements' and we've been learning about different ways to move our bodies to tell a story. Today we imagined that we had just landed our rockets on the moon and that we found aliens.
In Cookery today, we made some delicious flapjacks. We weighed out the ingredient and took our time mixing it. They turned out amazing and we enjoyed them as a snack before Golden Time.
In History today, we have been learning all about 'timelines'. We looked at various inventions and the dates they were made. We then created our own timeline by sequencing them into the order they were invented. Great work, Sharks!
In PSHRE today, we have been discussing what to do if we feel angry. We discussed different techniques, such as listening to music, doing exercise or having a little nap. We listened to different music and drew/scribbled on large sheets to show what we thought and felt. Great work, sharks!
In Maths today, we have been finding the difference between two sets of cubes. Then writing number sentences to explain this. Amazing work!
In Music today, we have been factory robots. We made various sounds to the beat (stamp clap clap clap, push lift lift lift etc) just like the robots in the factory. We then chose instruments that we thought sounded like the various actions. Great work Sharks!!!
In Maths today, we have been working out subtraction sums by using concrete objects (cubes). We counted the whole, took away so many and counted how many were left.
