    Week Commencing 23rd March 2026:

We’ve had a fantastic week filled with movement, creativity and meaningful exploration. The children began the week with their Monday rebound session, working hard on their gross motor skills and making great progress towards their individual targets.Throughout the week, the children enjoyed creating lots of Easter‑themed printing crafts, using different tools and colours to make beautiful seasonal artwork. We also explored a variety of tuff trays, including one focused on the Palm Sunday cross. Through sensory play, the children learned about the Easter story using different foods and drinks to represent key parts of the celebration. This hands‑on approach helped bring the story to life in a way that was engaging and accessible for everyone. Have a lovely weekend everyone.

    Week Commencing 16th March 2026:

We have had a wonderful week filled with movement, sensory experiences and lots of focused learning. On Monday, the children took part in their rebound session, working hard on their gross motor skills and making great progress towards their individual targets. We also enjoyed some peaceful relaxation time, snuggling up with blankets and taking part in a calming sensory massage. It was a lovely opportunity for everyone to unwind and regulate. The children showed brilliant attention during our Attention Autism session, watching carefully and engaging beautifully throughout. Their focus and curiosity were fantastic. To finish the week, we explored two exciting tuff trays. One tray encouraged the children to try a variety of different foods, while the other supported their cutting skills as they chopped fruits and vegetables. We also had a sensory spring‑themed tray, where the children explored foods representing grass, sky, leaves, and clouds — a fun and creative way to learn through touch, smell and play.

    Week Commencing 9th March 2026:

This week, the children have been working incredibly hard during their phonic sessions. Each child chose an item from our mystery bag and then identified it by selecting the correct matching card. It is wonderful to see their confidence grow as they communicate their choices. We also enjoyed a lovely walk to Hartfields Cafe, giving us the chance to practise our gross motor skills during the journey. Once we arrived, the children used PECS to communicate what they wanted for snack time, supporting their independence and communication development in a real‑life setting. Throughout the week, everyone has been focusing on their individual targets showing persistence. Well done Elephants!

    Week Commencing 2th March 2026:

What a wonderful first week back at school. Our colour of the week was yellow and the children had a brilliant time exploring the community to spot everything yellow around us. We found bright yellow flowers, a yellow signpost and even a yellow car. we even manged to see the big, bright, yellow sun on our walk. We also celebrated a very special birthday in our class. Everyone joined in singing Happy Birthday and we enjoyed some delicious cake together. On Thursday, we celebrated World Book Day in the cosiest way possible. The children arrived in their pyjamas with their favourite blankets, ready for a day filled with stories. We shared our gifted World Book Day books and spent time reading together. Outside, we explored World Book Day–themed tuff trays, encouraging imagination, sensory play and plenty of fun.

    Week Commencing 16th February 2026:

This week has been full of energy, exploration, and lots of proud moments. Every child has been working hard on their individual workbox activities, building confidence and independence as they practise their personalised skills. We’ve also been very active. Our rebound sessions have helped us develop balance, coordination, and body awareness, while our swimming sessions have given us the chance to splash, float and grow more comfortable in the water. To finish the week on a fun and sensory note, we enjoyed trying new foods as a special Friday treat. There were lots of curious faces, brave tastes, and even a few new favourites discovered. We hope everyone has a lovely February half term and we see all children back on Monday 2nd March.

    Week Commencing 9th February 2026:

This week the children have been working incredibly hard creating a range of beautiful Valentine’s Day crafts to share with the special people in their lives. We also enjoyed a lovely Valentine’s Day coffee morning, where families joined us for a cosy celebration. The children were so excited to sit with their parents and carers, enjoy some delicious cake, and present their Valentine’s crafts. It was wonderful to see so many smiles. Despite the rainy weather, we’ve still been making the most of our outdoor adventures. Wrapped up snug in our waterproofs, the children explored jumping, splashing, and exploring the wet weather. The little rain never stops us from having fun and learning outdoors.

    Week Commencing 2nd February 2026:

What a wonderful busy week it has been. The children have been fully immersed in our story of the week, “We’re Off to Look for Aliens”. They listened with great excitement and curiosity and the fun didn’t stop there. We took our learning outdoors, heading onto the field for our very own alien hunt. The children loved exploring the field for different aliens.

We also celebrated Number Day, which brought creativity into the classroom. The children proudly placed their donations into the box at the front of school. The children then enjoyed diving into a range of number‑themed activities. Using paint, glue, and plenty of glitter, they created their favourite numbers in bright, sparkling designs. It was messy, joyful and full of learning.

Their smiles said it all. In art, the children created their very own aliens, inspired by our current story. They explored shape, colour and imagination, producing some fantastic characters. We also continued practising our mark-making skills, using a palmar grasp to make lines and circles. Midweek, we ventured out into the community with a visit to Lidl to collect ingredients for cooking. The children loved the checkout process, watching items being scanned and even having a go at paying themselves. Back in class, everyone worked hard on their individual workbox activities, showing focus and independence. We finished the week with a relaxing swimming session, giving the children a calm and enjoyable end to a busy few days. It’s been a fantastic week of learning, exploring and having fun together.

This week has been full of excitement as we continued our learning all about the future. The children loved revisiting our sensory story “Tomorrow, Tomorrow” and engaged brilliantly with all the interactive element. Our colour of the week was black and we explored a range of black objects on our themed table while also learning the Makaton sign for black. In maths, we investigated big and small rockets using a messy play tuff tray filled with rice, pasta and chickpeas. We also had great fun making green gloop, watching how it moved and noticing the sensory experience as it dripped from the plate. Everyone has worked incredibly hard on their workbox tasks, including building with blocks, matching activities and mark making.

In art, we explored painting and printing to create our own aliens and robots, linking beautifully to our topic of future and space. A fantastic week of creativity, exploration and learning all round.

    Week Commencing 12th January 2026!

We’ve had another busy and engaging week in class. The children continued enjoying our story Robot Stop alongside our sensory story Tomorrow, Tomorrow, joining in with familiar parts and exploring the props with growing confidence.

Our focus this week was the seasons, and we explored them through all of our senses. From icy textures to warm colours, the children got hands‑on with lots of sensory materials — including some wonderfully messy gloop that everyone was excited to dive into.

We also enjoyed a lovely walk to Aldi. The children did brilliantly on the journey, and once inside, they helped choose and buy the resources we needed for our activities back at school.

It’s been a fantastic week full of curiosity, exploration, and real‑world learning.

    Week commencing 5th January 2026!

Welcome back to a brand‑new term! We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break. It’s been a snowy and exciting first week back, and the children have settled in beautifully.

The winter weather inspired lots of exploration. We looked closely at the colour white, talked about hot and cold, and learned about different habitats and the animals that live in them.

This week we also introduced our new sensory story “Tomorrow, Tomorrow” and continued to enjoy our Love of Reading book “Robot Stop”. The children had great fun exploring 2D and 3D shapes by printing and creating their very own robots.

To finish the week on a delicious note, the children baked marble cakes, practising their mixing, pouring, and turn‑taking skills.

It’s been a fantastic start to the term, and we’re excited for all the learning still to come.
