12.06.25 ART AND DESIGN In Literacy, we have been reading a variety of stories linked to transport and singing songs. This afternoon, the children looked at a book showing lots of different types of transport that had wheels. The children chose a vehicle in the book to make with Duplo construction kit.

12.06.25 - History - Our whole school topic is based around transport. In History we have been exploring the transport box that has been loaned from the Hartlepool Museum. Anaconda class loved exploring all the different artifacts and games, learning all about the different types transport in Hartlepool. There were some smell pots in the loan box e.g. seashore, steam train, Victorian station and an old pirate ship. The children thought all the different scents were ‘smelly!’

11.06.25 ART: The children enjoyed making Fathers Day Cards.

10.06.25 SCIENCE: The children sorted the different modes of transport into groups of where they belong e.g. land (road or train track), sea and air vehicles.

09.06.25 - Music. In music, Anaconda class have been working with Sarah and learning all about different instruments. This week we have been looking at wind instruments. We had great fun playing and learning all about recorders.

06.06.24 PHSE: The children helped Jane share out the ice-cream and they choose their preferred topping. The children communicated whether they liked or disliked the ice-cream and the strawberry or chocolate sauce.

04.06.25 - The children in Anaconda class made Pizzas! In computing we have been looking at algorithms and learning all about sequencing. We used our algorithm skills to plan each stage of making a pizza and then put this into practice in our cookery session. The children loved tasting their yummy pizzas!

03.06.25 MATHS We have been learning about 'time'. We have been identifying and ordering the days of the week and the months of the year. The children have been identifying what day is yesterday, today, and tomorrow. The children are beginning to use the days of the week in a practical, calendar-based context.

03.06.25 - Swimming - Anaconda Class love swimming on a Tuesday!

02.06.25 - Speech and Language - Jack and Tizzy, The Birthday! We have been reading a book all about birthdays! We have enjoyed acting out parties, playing games, trying different party food and dancing! We have had lots of fun!

22.05.25 PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT - This morning the children visited Greyfields park. The children enjoyed climbing, swinging, spinning around and exploring all the different climbing frames.

21.05.25 PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT: SOFT PLAY The children are enjoying participating in the multi-level play activities in soft play. They are exercising in a variety of ways e.g. climbing, crawling, running etc. Not only is soft play good for their muscles and physical development (strength, agility, fitness) but also for their mental wellbeing and spatial awareness.

20.05.25 MATHS: COMPARING THE CAPACITY OF DIFFERENT CONTAINERS We practically investigated how many spoonfuls of water does it take to fill up a cup and a bowl. We then discussed which container held the most and the few spoonfuls. The bowl held the most spoonfuls of water and the cup held the fewest amount of spoonfuls.

19.05.25 MATHS: MEASURING CAPACITY We have been measuring capacity! We measured a cup's capacity using cubes and a jug's capacity using beanbags.

19.05.25 PSHE: PIECE 1 CHALLENGE - JIGSAW Our topic in PSHE is aspirations, goals and dreams. Our first lesson the children were set some challenges to complete. The children all loved trying out the different challenges set and even some children took on their own challenges! We had such a fun lesson.

16.05.25 SCIENCE: We have been learning and looking at all of the different transports that people use day to day. We even went for a walk to see which type of transport we could see!

16.5.25 LITERACY: NON-FICTION We have been labeling the different parts of the hump-back whale from 'The Snail and the Whale' story.

15.05.25 MATHS: CAPACITY The children were identifying which containers were empty, nearly empty, half full, nearly full and full.

13.05.25 PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT: SWIMMING The children are enjoying their swimming lessons at Mill House Swimming Pool.

12.05.25 HISTORY: PAST AND PRESENT TRANSPORT The children identified which modes of transport were the oldest (from the past) and which were the newest (from the present).

12.05.25 LITERACY We are reading the story: 'The Snail and the Whale'.

09.05.25 ART AND DESIGN We have enjoyed creating our own helicopters with rotating propellers which are going to be displayed on our whole school ‘Modes of Transport’ display in our art corridor.

08.05.25 PHSE We visited the 'Imagination Village' this afternoon, the children happily explored all the different role play areas, extending both their communication and play skills.

07.05.25 SCIENCE: The children in Anaconda class have been learning about different types of transport. As a class, we talked about the different types of transport and which one was our favourite.

06.05.25 PHYSICAL EDUCATION: The children enjoyed improving their physical skills in their PE lesson by doing lots of jumping, they had lots of fun!

02.05.25 HISTORY: We had lots of fun going to the marina and looking at all of the different types of boats and then we took a trip to headland park before we headed back to school. It was so much fun!

29.04.25 LITERACY: WRITING (Little Wandle) Anaconda class have been practicing their letter formations.

28.04.25 PHSE We have a new playground! The children in Anaconda class have loved exploring our new play equipment outside. They were all so excited and have loved playing in our new playground. They have been developing their turn taking skills.

28.04.25 MUSIC Sarah came into Anaconda Class today, she sang to the children and then each child had a turn to choose their own favourite song to sing.

28.04.25 MATHS The children have been practicing counting up to 20 or more real objects when placed in a line and when randomly placed on a table.
